Renew Your Vows for FREE on Valentine’s Day in Savannah
Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church (UMC)’s Reverend, Billy Hester and his wife, Cheri, will once again be leading a renewal of vows ceremony for all married couples at Savannah’s City Market at 7pm on Sunday, February 14, 2016. The event will be held in the center of the market and is FREE of charge for any married couple whether they are residents or visitors to the city. Prizes from City Market shops will be awarded in various categories, such as couple married the longest, with the most children, etc. The ceremony begins at 7:00 p.m and will be held outside in the courtyard, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at an alternate location in the City Market area.
Rev. Billy Hester said, “This is something that Cheri and I look forward to every year and we are expecting a big turnout this year especially as Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday. I like to remind the participants that these vows are perhaps even more significant than the first ones they said on their wedding day because now they truly know what it is means to love and to be committed to each other during the ups and downs of a marriage…and the highs and lows of life.”
