Life on the Squares Introduces “Our” Spring Must Have: Lilly Pulitzer
Double tapping my way through the Visit Savannah Instagram on Sunday morning…it was the usual mix of beautiful scenes from around town. Families in City Market, a couple in front of the Forsyth Park Fountain, a bachelorette party at McDonough’s on Saturday night. Stefanie Dasher from the Savannah blog, Life on the Squares modeling a fantastic dress with deep pink azalea-like hues in front of the Fountain. It had to be a Lilly Pulitzer and I nearly dropped my iPhone after reading she had been featured on Lilly’s blog, The Juice Stand modeling the new Spring line in the Style Seen section – inspired by SAVANNAH, GEORGIA! Wait, what? I thought Lilly Pulitzer was all about Palm Beach?
Within 10 minutes, I had loaded my online shopping cart with the entire Savannah-inspired line before taking a deep breath and thinking, wait, surely our local Lilly Pulitzer store, Palm Avenue has this! And I need to talk to Stefanie Dasher and learn more about this immediately! I knew Stefanie was traveling from her Instagram posts so I messaged her through her blog. Every bit the sweet and helpful Southern belle, she enthusiastically responded from her vacation connecting me to everyone from the local store manager in Savannah to the Senior Director of Public Relations of Lilly Pulitzer in New York.
This Spring, Lilly Pulitzer celebrates Lilly’s Story Written in the Sun by visiting the southeastern coast. Kicking things off in Savannah, Lilly celebrate soft dresses with a romantic flair that are right at home in this small-town city. Fluid silks and draping jerseys come to life with prints like Bright Navy Behind the Gate, a nod to the historical cast iron gates lining the streets. You might even find a bulldog (could it be Uga?) hidden among those gates. More prints make a statement with the bold florals (and hidden cats!) of In The Garden and Southern Charm in vintage dobby fabrics. Lady Chablis celebrates midnight in the garden of good and evil with gorgeous blue irises. Finally, birds take flight with I Got Lucky in a luxurious maxi perfect for the transitioning temperatures.
Simple shifts in pima cotton and French terry celebrate the city’s easy-going vibe, while floral organza and boucle shifts are a nod to its classic southern charm. Easy resort pieces like the Amalie open cardigan and Athena tunic sweater round out the collection and are the perfect complement to the array of bright prints.
The Lilly Pulitzer Jeep is Resort Hoppin’ right now and is Savannah bound February 10th-12th! Follow along on Instagram and Twitter with the Hashtag #youneverforgetyourfirst and meet the Jeep at Palm Avenue (5525 Abercorn Walk, Ste 20) on Wednesday, February 12th from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to welcome them to Savannah! There will be fun in-store events, prizes and giveaways and plenty of Instagram opportunities with THE Lilly Pulitzer Jeep.
Local Lilly Pulitzer store manager, Kathleen Hendrix says, “As a manager of a local business here in Savannah I was overjoyed to see the recognition Lilly Pulitzer is giving our great city! As a lifelong resident I have always appreciated the southern charm of our historic district and beautiful coast. Now the print designers of Lilly Pulitzer have used our city for inspiration for the first shipment of Spring 2014!”
I am more excited than ever to welcome Spring in Savannah, how about you?
Did I mention there’s a print inspired by The Lady Chablis? I must have this scarf! I wonder if “The Doll” has one too?
